Let it be known that this is what @jay.bsky.team and @moderation.bsky.app have tripled down on insisting counts as “violent or threatening speech” worthy of a permanent suspension. Or does it only count because I was quoting your post where you were eulogizing a fascist? I want my account back.
Hi, I just recently reached out to the Moderation team through this email requesting an explanation for the permanent suspension of my account @reddline.bsky.social associated with this email address. The reason I was given in response is that I posted "An image that shows a person outdoors aiming a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) launcher with a digitally added text message that says 'Eat shit, nerd" I have included a copy of the image below to show specifically what this was in reference to. I am sending this email as an immediate followup to my previous email and as a further escalation of my suspension appeal because it bears repeating. This is frankly ridiculous and an immense, nonsensical stretch to claim that this very obviously hyperbolic meme image is in any way a legitimate form of "Violent or threatening speech". Furthermore, I can NOT prevent this from happening again, as was suggested in the same email, as at this point the moderation team has decided that my account will be permanently suspended for this. This is a complete mismanagement of your moderation responsibilities and an uneven, heavy-handed application of the Community Guidelines solely because this post was made as a quote to a post by Jay. The past 72 hours have seen your site and moderation tools flooded with posts of actual violent and threatening speech that you have left untouched but to claim that my usage of this meme is worthy of such a heavy handed punishment is outrageous and I will make sure the community at large as well as the journalists I have been in contact with know as such. I am asking you again to reconsider this decision and immedaitely reverse, or at the very least limit to a set period of time, the suspension on my account. Regards, Redd Carpenter
