why I am still a huge fan of Dishoom: they're higher-end, beloved of white Londoners and tourists, gimmicky in their way; but, they can host real Indian families, we can go in and make a racket and grill the water about his antecedents and be met who we are. anyway my mum had a lovely 70th!

Lovely day on skates today! Ice, not roller; I'm breaking in my first pair of ice skates and managed to stumble around Ally Pally for a couple of hours, and also, there was Uzbek food!

well, if we're all doing it. there was a huge rush for Yuletide 2009 because you actually had to have an account to sign up that year - don't think I thought it was a big deal at the time!

This is Sloane Square Tube station, and that big green thing is one of the buried rivers of London- the River Westbourne being carried towards the Thames. I like seeing it still indefatigable.

It's beautiful, and very strange - remote as all hell and felt often bleak and deserted, but we had a nice time meeting A's friends in the palatial town library, and it was the fourth of July so they were having a street party.

(pics by @generalising ofc, I could not take pics like these!)
