Oof. Not sure that being this aggro against masks is the way to go here, especially since a good portion of the voice actor talent is still invested in protecting themselves and their future careers. Definitely giving me second thoughts about attending.

Masks Masks or costumes covering most or part of the face are not allowed to be worn while entering or exiting the event entry points, or specific places where money is changing hands and identification is needed (for example, event registration, while making transactions at a vendor’s booth, food vendors, or other locations as indicated). They are able to be worn in all other convention exclusive spaces.

The part that stood out to me is this masterful (evil) cup-switch on Gideon's part to tie needed mitigation measures back to fomite-only approaches.

Not like we haven't had 5 years to figure out that fomite-only approaches don't work. Clean the air someday. Maybe. If he feels like it. (He won't.)
As I said right at the start, I’d rather my daughter never gets sick. This year she had a round of gastroenteritis that impacted thousands of children across the state which was likely caused by norovirus. The experience was extremely unpleasant for all of us. She’s never tested positive to COVID-19, but in all likelihood she’s had at least once subclinical infection already. I fully support basic measures to reduce the risk of spreading various diseases <Begin highlight> — in the case of norovirus, education on handwashing and improved hygiene measures in daycares are particularly important. <End highlight> However, I’m not especially concerned about COVID-19 above everything else that she could catch. It may be useful to implement some additional protections to reduce the burden of respiratory diseases more broadly — perhaps require future constructions of daycare facilities to have better air filtration systems — but otherwise I’m not personally worried about the disease for my daughter beyond the usual parental wish to shield her from all harm.
