Introducing a bit more widely some of the banner variants I’ve come up with, originally for specific contexts.

2/2 This one will be the chunkiest volume yet, slightly exceeding even the already hefty Season 3 book.

Introduction, plenty of annotations again (lending perspective and more), and a number of extra sections at the back.

1/2 Happy to say that today I completed the last remaining major tasks for the book What Now with Simo, Season 4.

All members of The Better Patreon will receive the full ebook for free next week, more than a week before I’ll publish worldwide on Amazon.

I had long felt the necessity to tell the story of what happened with my originally announced involvement but eventual non-involvement as a writer for Senscape’s adventure game Asylum. That article is now on my Patreon (link in bio) — exceptionally as a public post on this otherwise private Patreon.

Editing some texts while creating a new regular feature for my Patreon, I came across this passage describing my composition and music video “Barbaric Splendour”.

We just voted YES on Prop 50 because We, the People, are sick of this sh*t. Prop 50 makes sure the 2026 mid-term elections are conducted on a level playing field without an unfair advantage for Republicans. Yes. That. #YesOnProp50

2/3 1) Two milestones having been passed — 300 posts altogether and 25 issues of the newsletter (more than 60 pages).

2) The premieres of two new weekly series: Composing Music and the David Lynch Series.

1/3 This will be the last time for a while that I’ll share an issue of The Better Patreon Newsletter on social media, but I wanted to make another exception on the occasion of:

This Thursday the 18th, at 12pm Finnish time, the 300th post at The Better Patreon, and I couldn’t have asked for a better episode: Northern Exposure 3.06 “The Body in Question” (5,411 words).

Three years ago, I walked past the perfect umbrella. Our paths had no way of connecting in that moment. (But next week I’m starting a David Lynch series on my Patreon. My likeminded friends may see the connection.)

1/2 Still too busy with the Patreon itself to spend time on social media updates, so only doing a drive-by sharing of The Better Patreon Newsletter #24 and going ahead with the next posts:

As a writer, I’ve always sought to find concise expressions for things.

One of them has been: friends show up.

If a friend does not show up, time after time — is it a friendship at all?

This is not a conundrum to ponder, since the only true answer is:

No, it is not.

Today I shared the first entry in my new Creative Journal in audio form — one evolution of my podcast — and started delving into the 3rd season of Northern Exposure with episode 3.01 “The Bumpy Road to Love”.

You can find it in the Behind the Scenes collection. The post also shares some news relevant particularly for today and next week.

For the last time I get to say here’s a new episode of my podcast What Now with Simo, since this is the finale of both season 5 and the podcast as a whole:

NX 2.05 “Spring Break”:

“This is such a rich, intoxicating feast. With this episode, NX nails its colours to the mast for good when it comes to healthy, openminded attitudes to many things.”

Post about possible firsts:

1) Podcast as books.

2) Prose fiction adaptation of a Star Trek comic book adaptation as a form of criticism.

3) The first 100% complete adventure game walkthrough ever. Of any adventure game.

Please, no more Twin Peaks after David Lynch. He showed us so powerfully, as did Ray Bradbury and so many more, that the best any of us can do is create those things that come and only can come from our own unique souls. Everything in their image would be a travesty and horror.
