This (not from that piece) is one of those charts where I am completely aware of the data but my mental map of how the global economy works still almost refuses to update to the new reality. Because the pace of change has been so rapid.

As far as I can tell, all this shows is current voting intention, weighted by reading genre preferences. Not sure what one supposed to do with this.

👇An awful lot of the rich world’s “rising costs” are just “people live longer and survive more”. A baby born prematurely lives! A man survives his first major heart attack. A woman with Down’s Syndrome outlives her parents! These are wonderful rising costs to have!
