Just going a little further, shouldn’t anyone standing to be elected as an MP be obliged to provide a public statement of their beliefs, and to respond to questions from the public in their constituencies if they believe the statements are incomplete or untruthful.

Whether or not these moves will work to wrest some power away from the Treasury (probably not) they are symptomatic of the systemic crisis in govt that has been building for a while. The world becomes increasingly complex and changes fast; our political machine is still from another era.

Anyone here know what might have made this circular hole in a stone dug up in a small local quarry? There’s a hole on the other side as well, but smaller and irregular. The quarry often turns up fossils, but in a shale. This stone is quite different.
