Great article on St Helena whale sharks – and the enigma of whale shark reproduction – from AP. I've only been to St Helena once, in 2019, but it was a very memorable trip; the only time I've seen whale shark courtship behaviour in 20 years spent researching the species!

Wrote a blog! It's been a while :)

I've been working as a marine biologist guide and photographer in Kaikoura over summer – it's been brilliant!

If you're interested in getting whale photos from the air, hopefully there'll be some helpful tips here :)

Nerd question – who woulda thunk, right? – but what's the largest litter size recorded from a shark at this point? Have whale sharks (~300 pups) been beaten yet?

Here are some wee baby whitetip reef sharks for the algo :)

Starting my new year off right with my supervisor @simonjpierce.bsky.social sending me this awesome pic of me from our winter surveys at Flat Rock.

Looking forward to diving again this year as we continue our work with critically endangered grey nurse sharks!

Hope to see many of you underwater 🤞🏼
