The history of the region shows that a Palestinian state will only continue the conflict but in a new way. At this conflict’s core is Arab hatred of Jews. Always did, and always will.

Not riots, but weekly marches are now common. My point however is that it’s in everyday encounters that it’s more apparent.
The conflicts over the asylum seekers/immigration is also something that’s new and growing.

Antisemitism, Jew-hatred, has become much more normalised in Britain, not just since Hamas attacked Israel, on 7 October, but over the last 10 or so years. It was, in my experience socially unacceptable in the past, but that’s changed. Class also appears be re-entering the public discourse.

The idea that Britain is well integrated was true, but is increasingly no longer true. Sectarian, religious divides are increasingly obvious. The left find that uncomfortable, but it’s true, and needs to be recognised to be addressed. I expect it won’t be.
