I miss Joann fabrics. It was five minutes from my house and had a great selection. Now I have to drive ten miles to a different town to Michael’s, which is more expensive and has far less selection. #fuckprivateequity

When I was a young teenager I watched Batman Forever constantly. For my 13th or 14th birthday my mom brought me and a group of girls in my class to The Saint and we had a blast. This one hurts.

I am working on some sewing projects. I realized I am almost out of black thread. My local JoAnn Fabrics is closing and sold out of thread weeks ago. The closest Michaels is ten miles away and there are no indie sewing shops in town. That leaves Walmart or Amazon. Thanks Capitalism.

Had a fun day in Stafford Springs with my husband. We visited Little Lost Records, Stone House Apotheca and Stafford Cidery (where they gave me a very appropriate glass). Shopping small and local in these times feels like a small victory.

All the Joann Fabrics stores in CT are closing. I am crushed. They have been my go to my entire adult life. My local store is dumpy but I’ve always loved it 😿

I’ve lived in New England my entire life. It’s never failed to baffle me when snow is forecasted and people feel the need to buy three carts full of food to be snowed in for ONE day. Why do people do this?!
