This is not the final submission, more like the 2nd to last one.
Still, a big step forward in this and getting close to the end!

Because I know what happened. I know why trans people are more anxious and are pre-emptively giving up on solidarity. The global backlash to feminist politics and queer existence and the resurgent wave of nationalism and isolationism is taking its toll on us all.
But also, fucking hell, stop.
But also, fucking hell, stop.

Bit of an understatement that.

Last week was like that, people enjoyed my speech at TWT and I was like 'yeah it was good/fine.'
Not even to be modest, it was trying to find that enthusiastic energy. I think when this thesis draft is sent (to my supervisors for final comments) I might gain some of the energy back.

I think I tried to say it in my speech, what does it mean to organise when I have to take a 30 minute bus into the city centre to discuss it?
Building that street/community presence here has always been very difficult though and again, it's easy to say it, but how do we do this concretely?

This included a lot of talk on the need for more social and community centres.
However, what are the logistics of that? It's easy to say, but how do we do it? (esp. outside of large urban areas like Manchester) Who has the access and capacity to set these up and direct what they do?

I was intrigued at how base-building was frequently mentioned (understandably so), but I think it is important to look back at the brief post-2019 election, pre-COVID period when it was being explored & looking into the difficulties of doing so (like what happened with the Marxist Center in the USA)
