Like they said, a lot of artists may start out with tracing over to get used to the anatomy and how it feels. After that, they try to draw based on references without tracing. It's totally acceptable as long as you aren't trying to take credit for what's traced.

Personally I have played more Lethal Company so I lean more towards that. There is a lot you can add with mods.
