Someone tell him if he backs down from this threat he can count it as another war he ended
Trump, with no authority to do so, demands the airspace “above and surrounding” Venezuela be closed as he threatens to bomb and invade the country.

I would read the hell out of a deeply reported piece on how the media/political elite addiction to Twitter is shaping their views, which in turn shape the views of millions of people. It's a total reality-warper.
i’m increasingly convinced that many people in d.c. are just suffering from x dot com brain rot

Yes because of the Epstein files discharge petition, but also because Johnson and the rest of the GOP are going to try to overturn the elections of Democratic House members during the midterms, especially in more competitive seats.

Laying the groundwork for that.
i genuinely do not understand why he keeps digging the hole deeper on this one
KARL: I mean, you could swear in Adelita Grijalva tomorrow, right?

MIKE JOHNSON: No, not tomorrow. We couldn't. We wouldn't.

Trump at the Charlie Kirk memorial event: "They fired sniper rifles at ICE agents, and me. But I made a turn at a good time. I made a turn at a good time. Charlie couldn't believe it, actually."

Amy Coney Barrett defends heavy use of the shadow docket: "If we wrote a long opinion, it might give the impression that we have finally resolved the issue, and in none of these cases have we finally resolved the issue."

The entirety of the Trump content mill is 90s drama-style cliffhangers. If things are open and shut, there's no reason to listen to tomorrow's podcast. The door must be left open to a larger cabal who ultimately will never be found, because the cabal isn't real and their failures are their own.

The ICE agents deploying these are people without necessary training, those who couldn’t cut it in police training or didn’t want to join the military.

They are in this to hurt people and play Call of Duty on our streets, deploying chemical weapons on our neighbors as if they’re pressing L1.
Remaining feds left the scene in a large caravan, deploying more tear gas straight into the crowd - and right at my feet - as they left.

Democrats should never vote to fund a government that's waging war on its own citizens and firing officials *because* they insist on following court orders instead of breaking the law. Let Senate Republicans nuke the filibuster. None of this is normal and it shouldn't be treated as such.

This is the playbook, folks.

If you're not paying attention now and doing something about it, then you're going to have to sit down the rest of your life because democracy is being taken away.

Do not be quiet in this moment.

So deeply embarrassing for the United States. Trump legitimized Putin and his illegal war on the world stage and got absolutely nothing in return. Not even a single step toward peace. Everyone involved in this charade should be ashamed.

Trump: I think so. He stole her.

The most repressed are often the most controlling. If they just let themselves enjoy life, maybe they wouldn’t burn the world trying to punish everyone else for enjoying it.

THIS is what I like to see from Democrats.

Expose their hypocrisy. Use the system to your advantage. Get in the GOP’s way at every opportunity so they can’t hurt more people.
Politico & Punchbowl report House Republican leadership is shutting down the Rules Committee - which is essential for moving party-line bills on the floor - for the week rather than vote on Democratic amendments on the Epstein files.

Dems have effectively halted Republican legislation in the House:

It's actually amazing how overtly Maoist the Republican Party is right now. Both Maoism and MAGA hate cities for their own reasons, so they want to depopulate the cities to make people go work in food production.
Schmitt: "The answer is opening those opportunities up for American workers. You just saw a food processing plant open that had folks who were arrested & sent away then you had American workers actually sign up. It's a myth that Americans don't want to work hard & do these jobs. Of course they will"

This 4th, I can’t stop thinking about how many lives will be hurt by Trump’s catastrophic bill.

But I’m also thinking about the incredible ways people stand with, protect, and serve their communities.

The most patriotic thing we can do today is help our neighbor. It’s more important now than ever.
This bill is going to harm millions of Americans right now but we won’t know the true toll for years.

It’s time for Democratic leaders, donors, and organizations to use their dollars to fill the gaps Trump is creating: fund clinics, stock food banks, protect communities.
