I wish I didn’t have to share this. But the BBC has decided to censor my first Reith Lecture.

They deleted the line in which I describe Donald Trump as “the most openly corrupt president in American history.” /1

This sentence was taken out of a lecture they commissioned, reviewed through the full editorial process, and recorded four weeks ago in front of 500 people in the BBC Radio Theatre.

I was told the decision came from the highest levels within the BBC. /2

Dominic Cummings, in an earlier incarnation, ran a secretly-funded 'think tank' dedicated to attacking the Beeb while Robbie Gibb glided effortlessly from GBNews to the BBC & started lecturing staff on impartiality. Imagine (cos you'll have to) how the 'left-wing' equivalent would be reported.

Great to chat with @mrjamesob.bsky.social this week on @lbc.co.uk about my new book: VIP Lane & ITV doc: The Covid Contracts

The UK wasted £10bn on PPE

We were the only country on the planet to set up VIP Lanes during the pandemic

I am horrified by the images of a mosque in Peacehaven burning after a suspected arson attack.

Everyone should be able to worship free from fear and terror.

Islamophobia is totally unacceptable. Those who spread hatred and incite violence against Muslim communities must stop.

Zack Polanski is sending out the message that you can both oppose Genocide and condemn attacks on jewish people in the UK.

And it is driving the Media insane because they want to cancel Genocide protests.

How dare people call Farage racist?

Some of his mates *don’t* incite racial hatred but none of you think about that, do you?

Just because he hangs out with rapists, traffickers, racists, works the anti abortion circuit and had a wifebeater MP you talk him down.

Political correctness gone mad.

Deeply concerned about the safety of those on the flotilla.

We know the government will try ignore it - it's really important we all speak up and raise our voices.

This is a group of people delivering baby food to Gaza and the Government must intervene to ensure their safety.

California and New York paying taxes to this federal government in 2025 is tantamount to England and France paying taxes to Germany in 1940.

The Government is now shut down, but apparently nobody called the school in the Bronx that had come to the Capitol for their tour today, so they're getting the treat of a lifetime since AOC agreed to give them the tour herself!
I’m loving this for all of them!

Some good news.

London is meeting legal limits for toxic NO2 pollution for the first time – almost 200 years earlier than predicted – following the Mayor’s "world leading air pollution policies," City Hall announces.

The Ultra Low Emissions Zone - and similar policies - really do work.

Almost two in three Labour members would back Burnham as leader

Starmer made poor policy choices
Two child benefit cap.
Winter fuel payment fiasco.
Disability benefit cuts.
Sticking to Tory income tax thresholds.
No curbs on energy/water profiteering.
Return of PFI.
No end to political corruption
Almost two in three Labour members back Burnham over Starmer for leader, poll shows
The exclusive poll also reveals that around a third of Labour members polled no longer think Sir Keir Starmer is a good prime minister.

If you look at the state of the UK when the Tories left power last year, Labour have since made Britain a significantly more hostile place to be if you're an immigrant.

It's not even close.

(We can argue forever about what the Tories *might* have gone on to do. I am talking about what they did.)

This is a must read/share thread that perfectly describes the cognitive dissonance that we've reached in this country when Politicians have conversations about "valid concerns about immigration" yet completely miss the root cause.

Thank you, @tanjabueltmann.net for pulling this all together.
When I was a teenager there was a bus direct from my hometown in Germany to London - we had a British army base, and this direct bus connection was one of the benefits of that. One summer I went on that bus to go volunteer in an old people's home in Southend-on-Sea. I had just turned 18 and was... 🧵
