yeah and i dont think that dynamic will change. i dont think there will be a big twist revealing that the hive has bad intentions, which could vindicate carol. and in that scenario, the only way she can fight the hive is by freeing herself of the guilt they keep her trapped in.

in ep 2 diabate mentions that the hive released all the zoo animals, and a lion mauled some of the people. so it's possible they released all the pets too, and they got eaten by native predators like the wolves.

she won't ever be the villian for the audience because the hive feels sinister af to us. but in the carol-hive dynamic i think she will be the evil one, not the hive.

jokes aside, it's really sad that there are no public spaces for the young desi community to just gather. gerrard st is overly policed/gentrified, now ridgeway too. where are they supposed to go to sing dil dil pakistan with strangers?
