It's tough because if you're self-critical enough (a positive trait for a creator to have!) you will get tripped up by bad faith shite. It's good to cultivate a sense of when someone is being critical and when someone is being mean because they're sopping wet

They aren't even my favourites! I started with I but it is and always has been IV that has my heart! But it's frustrating to see "I like Gen I the best" misrepresented as nostalgia blinders when I haven't seen an honest-to-goodness "Genwunner" in what must be a decade

This always annoys me a bit. Gen I was tremendously effective; still perhaps the best map the series has seen with a perfect blend of choice and balance, and still perhaps the most the Pokémon have felt like a part of their world - the novelty forcing the game to really ground them.
