The interest was completely lost on me until I learned that WoW players more often than not are some genuinely awful people that use their faction pride and the game’s shoddy writing ti justify racism lol

Blizz seems to take the leagues of weirdos RPing as Scarlets - for reasons that are almost certainly indicative of real life worldviews - as proof that the Scarlet Crusade absolutely *needs* to be a constant presence in the game

I would think that characters related to the Highmountain Chieftan and also the dude who we literally saw cut down scores of demons during the war of the ancients would've been able to survive an artifact quest

The shock factor deaths in this game makes it impossible for me to bother getting invested in new characters that get introduced

then years later we look back and go "you know this plot point would've been better if this specific character didn't die immediately"

This is just my assumption but I think that drive to do interesting stuff with the lore had to be built in the culture of the team itself. Knowing what we know about Blizzard behind closed doors, and the *horrid* shit we don't know/are now learning, it's safe to say it was an uphill battle

It really does bite that since WoW wasn't developed with a team that had the foresight to emphasize lore content as well as the gameplay, they just don't understand how to do it naturally decades later
