There was no other director like him, and it's kind of a miracle that he was able to do all the wild, weird and strange work that he did, for as long as he did, and mostly with studio money. RIP.

With such hallucinogenic masterworks as 'Eraserhead,' 'Blue Velvet,' 'Mulholland Drive,' 'Twin Peaks' and 'The Elephant Man,' he often left more questions than answers.

Yesterday I posted on Strava "There may be a time where I reflect on this differently, but right now I can honestly say I've never been more disappointed with a running performance." My experience of Strava is that unrelenting positivity is mandated, as indicated by people who commented

Training w/c 19th Aug: Legs better so back to running this week. Intervals on Tuesday 800 x 3, 600 x 3, 300 x 4 - I've got slower due to lack of quality. Tempo intervals (4 x 7 mins) on Thursday felt good - I did this session probably as a reaction to feeling slow. Total 81 miles running + 1hr ride

Training w/c 12th Aug: Pivoted some volume to swimming and cycling through middle of the week as legs started to feel stressed from 34 miles prev Sunday. Enjoyed swimming for the first time in >year. Massage on Thursday was necessary. Sunday half marathon run moderate reminded me I have no pace.

I've taken the whole month of August off work to train for a 100k. In the 1st week off I ran a total weekly volume of 100 miles for the first time ever. It's amazing what running the easy runs slowly allows you to do. Would never have thought this possible even a few months ago.
