Look, if you're not an expert you wouldn't know, but this chart is bullshit. They could not possibly measure this as 1. How can you tell for sure? There's no reliable automated way. 2. You're not counting the many sites that are blocking crawlers now.

But there's an even more important reason...
the internet is now a photocopy of a photocopy of a photocopy of a photocopy and so on

"don't pay attention to any of that frivolous humanities education, STEM all the way - what, do you think you can hack a computer with poetry or something?"

apparently, yes
Looks like LLMs are *very* vulnerable to attack via poetic allusion: "curated poetic prompts yielded high attack-success rates (ASR), with some providers exceeding 90% ..."

back again to share a new preprint from me and @mantzarlis.com! “What did Elon Change? A comprehensive analysis of Grokipedia” arxiv.org/abs/2511.09685

I had seen many spot analyses of individual grokipedia pages, but I was curious: how was grokipedia made? what did Elon change from wikipedia?

"If I can say no I should say no because it gives other people the option" ‼️

A solid tool we have to fight against the normalization of inappropriate and secretive uses of our data is to accept friction and opt-out when we can, when we know we can.

One way I have found to mourn someone is to set up a monthly sustaining donation to a mutual aid effort they cared about. If you can join me in honoring Alice Wong, @sfdirewolf.bsky.social with a sustaining donation today, please do. Thank you Alice, and I will not let the bastards grind me down.

If today’s news made you want to vomit and/or punch something (a pedophile, perhaps), join me in channeling your righteous fury at those harms by raising funds for the people at Scarleteen doing critical work providing teens with accurate, non-judgmental information about sex and their health.
Reminder that donations to my personal fundraiser to support Scarleteen count DOUBLE up to the first $1,000! I'd love to hit $800 tonight, so come at me, big spenders.

Scarleteen is people-powered, NOT AI! We’re raising $40,000 for staff and volunteer health care and today, we’d like to celebrate some amazing volunteers who make inclusive, joyful sex, health, and relationships education possible. www.classy.org/campaign/scarl...

“You don’t deserve to see me” is exactly the boundary that the current approach to tech is constantly encouraging technologists to disrespect, and they can’t seem to understand why anyone would have a problem with
I'm so tired of people being shitty about boundaries, and the entitlement of so-called "people in positions of influence". I do not owe you my attention or my knowledge and you don't deserve to see me, especially if you are incapable of discerning the existential threat to humanity that genAI is.
Blocking hatemongers is one thing but this trend of using mass block lists to avoid hearing from people who might or might not hold points of view you expect to disagree with is unhealthy imo and hurts the platform.

Bluesky was better off with folks like Margaret Mitchell and Giada Pistilli on it.

"What I need you to understand is that nobody is letting them go quietly. The Feds' every movement is announced by a chorus of whistles, by a parade of cars honking in their wake, neighbors rushing outside to yell to film to witness these kidnappings that are unfolding in front of us."
ICE has been cracking down hard across the vast expanse of the greater Chicago area, and I wrote a little bit about what you need to understand about what it’s like here now. Plus, I compiled some resources for locals to get alerts and whistles. dansinker.com/posts/202…
