they're both pretty annoying to use though. I constantly press the wrong shoulder button for the tab I want to change. Sometimes a list of options really is the best call even if it takes more button presses from the user

it's very strange to me that two different games have come out within a week of each other that use this "double tabs" menu UI - Atelier Yumia and Dark Deity 2

Rather than hoping more dialogue endears the player to your characters (it usually just gives devs more rope to hang themselves with unless they're really good at writing) figure out how to capture the player's heart through short scenes

Another game I tried recently - Microtopia. It's great! Interesting having a factory game where so much can be automated so early, and transporting goods around is so easy, but the whole complexity is managing the lifecycle of your ants.

I'm pretty tepid on the recent gacha banners but the cash shop in Infinity Nikki does have me by the balls

even the amount of named monsters is not super high. If you like exploring because you like seeing scenic vistas, this game certainly has plenty of that. But as for actually feeling rewarded for exploring? ehhhh

I wonder if they've improved the amount of stuff to find in the open world. My biggest problem with the original was that unless what you were looking for was more monsters, there really wasn't that much in the open world to actually find. Here's a map with open world treasure chests marked.
