Loved this bit from the recent Jeff Buckley doc. I wish there was video footage from that meeting between Nusrat-saab & Jeff but this story from Joan Wasser is joyful and heartbreaking at the same time. The image taken by Jack Vartoogian is one of my favourite shots ever taken.

Is it me or is Reuben Amorim begging to be sacked? But that quote made me laugh, cause if you swapped out the word ‘player’ with ‘crew’ you’d think he was talking about the lifecycle of a freelancer working in film & tv

This could be a fantastic opportunity for someone from the South Asian community to get their foot in the door. I can’t tell you how rare a shout out like this is. As a group, we’re still woefully underrepresented on set as crew behind the camera. Pass on the word if you can

Only have had it happen a couple of times in my career where the director+producer+Asst editor will cut together a sizzle/blooper reel for the crew. It’s the best present a production can give to the crew. Nice to catch a glimpse of all our labour as we wrap

This is the part of the job I struggle with - securing the next gig but we’ve all gotta do it. Would love to line up the next job sooner rather than later. Open to short/long form projects & would love to connect with new DOP’s as well as reconnect with DOP’s who’ve worked with me in the past.

Watched #Sinners one last time at the BFI in 70mm IMAX. I may never get to work on an IMAX project or with DOP #AutumnDuraldArkapaw but I can take huge inspiration from what she did with this film. I can only wish & aspire to work on something of this scale with a crew that looks like this.

Look I’m just gonna float this idea. Happy to hear #TedLasso is coming back for a forth season. It’s going to concentrate on Richmond Women’s squad. If they can’t find a role for the OG female player Jess Bhamra in the series, seriously what are we doing?

This past year has left me questioning everything. Can not get hired by a DoP for love nor money. I can’t work out what I’ve said or done to the entire cinematography fraternity to be left in the cold like this. Genuinely would love to hear from DoP’s on what I’m lacking or can improve on

Sat in my living room & watching the world go by. 6 weeks on from its cinema release, the adverts are still on the 102 bus. I’m usually guaranteed to see the poster once a day pass by my house. Nice reminder that I once use to work in the industry. #WeLiveInTime

It’s common knowledge that the S. Asian creative force in the UK TV/Film sector is weak & divided. It’s so hard to get us to coalesce & support each other! Not sure how you change this ‘crabs in a barrel’ mentality. This clip from the Indy & Dr podcast echos my frustration

I have never rooted more for a cat to survive than in this movie. Bill Hader was right, 1 of the films of the year. I know I use socials to recommend all sorts of stuff but trust me, you NEED to watch #Flow. One for kids & adults alike
