Education is my passion,
politics my anger,
good food and TV my weakness.

I live on Dharug land.
I conduct and facilitate research about, for and in schools.
This is how I’m treated by Andy after I’ve been at the office all day.

Sometimes when I sign off in an email my name is corrected to Shank. Not sure how to feel about that one.

One simulation is of a parent giving them hell which usually sends the PST reeling. The PST is then armed with strategies for difficult conversations and goes back in with most feeling more confident as a result of the exercise.

Uni of Newcastle models ITE on the Quality Teaching Model (now 20 years old) and focus on “basics” of:
- how to speak and think well
- how to act well in a material world
- how to relate well with others
(Matches with Kemmis’s architectures of practice)

It was easy to read, with some clever writing and turns of phrase, bringing back to my ear what I heard in my youth. The integration of Australian history into it all, was the cherry on top. 2/2
