It takes a long time to undo the trauma but those triggers last a long ass time. I haven't figured it all by any means.

Ah I'm sorry you're having a hard time. My 2 are older, 19 and 15 and have quite different needs.
I'm a full time carer to my eldest due to other conditions too.
It can be so tough trying to balance things. But I wouldn't change a thing. Love them both as they're amazing people.
