The Ku Klux Klan Acts (passed in 1870 & 1871 to protect 14th amend rights) were particularly focused on masked gunmen who violated the civil rights of Black people. We should remember this history when masked law enforcement ofcrs are deployed in our communities.

Looking at state data on sexual orientation and gender identity from 2021. More people refused to answer than those indicating they were gay. I suspect that as concerns around data security, free speech, and civil rights violations continue to escalate this number will only go up

"Women" were on the forbidden word list. The Women's Health Initiative helped us understand Hormone Replacement Therapy. We had this study because NIH had frequently *left women out* of their studies.
Well the NIH has cancelled the Women's Health Initiative, the largest study of women in history

It has been running continuously since 1991 and has provided massive key knowledge about diseases in women

Unreal

Loving this audio book!
I couldn't agree more with @barnesandnoble.bsky.social's choice for Book of the Year—James by Percival Everett. This novel is a brilliantly written page-turner that kept me hooked. The audiobook, too, was exceptionally well done. More gems like this, please.
