Atlanta, my loves, this is a city known for magic and *mischief*. How can we live up to our reputation and welcome these lovely individuals? I'm sure we can find ways to make their stay here interesting.
Musk’s staffers fanned out across several agencies today, sending representatives to the Atlanta headquarters of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and meeting with the Labor Department to seek access to sensitive data.

Remember, my loves, your overwhelm, despair, and shutdown are the entire point... and we don't comply in advance.

I love you.
Keep doing what you do. Keep making the world better in small and large ways, and do not go gentle into that good night.

D7 read, "Twas the Night Before Pride," tonight.
She informed me very firmly that she would have been in the thick of the riots.

No one who has met her is in the least surprised by this post.

Please note that this is me medicated and with more therapy and coping mechanisms than many of my peers.

This process still took me nearly 3hrs, not counting typing all this out.

And no, the clothing laundry still isn't put away yet.

3g) Get as much into two bags as possible, realize you aren't solving this problem today... Or probably for another 6mos.

Turn around and see the (still full) laundry basket full of clothes that started all this. Go day drink.

3d) Cry again as you try to figure out how to organize it all rather than just throw everything into the dive bag.
3e) Painstakingly sort it all into mesh packing pouches you bought for this exact purpose 18mos ago.
3f) Realize it absolutely will not all fit in the new bag. Primal scream.

3a) Find every bag and duffel and box with RenFaire or Convention gear. Dump it on the floor.
3b) Cry a little as you realize how much stuff you own.
3c) Sort it into piles: clothing, accessories, pouches/bags/belts, weapons, harnesses, drinkware, scarves...

1g) Label each cabinet. Pray anyone actually pays attention to the labels.

That's task 1.
Task 2: Change the sheets. This is relatively easy, aside from the help of an eager 7yo.
Task 3: Gather all of the scattered RenFaire/Convention gear/clothing and put it into new, unbroken dive bag.

1e) Store each set inside of one of its pillowcases, and put back away, rearranging and reorganizing the space as you go.
1f) Realize that this will mean NOTHING to anyone else putting away laundry and send a kid to find labels and a chalk marker (so you don't get sidetracked).

1c) Open linen closet. Realize it's a mess and you have no idea what's in there, much less where it goes. Pull everything out and add to stacks.
1d) Realize that you own a bunch of linens that you don't have a single use for. Sort through and keep only complete sets.

1) Decide to clear the linen pile in front of the linen closet and put away laundry.
1a) Make up the bed for a clear work surface.
1b) Sort into stacks on the bed: towels, king, queen, full, & twin size. We don't own a full size bed. Also bathroom towels & rags. And pillowcases.

Took 3hrs to get home last night and my street is still iced over. Since I can't get to work, it's time to finally get our bedroom shipshape.
Ever wondered how ADHD cleaning works? Watch this.

Spent today enjoying queer love and shoring up some mutual aid networks.
Now it's time for finishing up laundry by the fire. I feel zero need to drown myself in unpleasant news details when I already know the broad strokes.

As a reminder Trump is going to issue a flurry of EOs to: 1. Pander to his base and wealthy. 2. To scare/"own the libs." They will be awful AND they'll be litigated in court. Avoid doom scrolling. Focus on helping your communities. There are fights that will need our energy.

Coming soon, off the napkin and to a southeastern US convention near you: "How To Write a Disaster," panel.

I can be pushy, bossy, and downright overbearing... but it is almost always in service to the people I love. I am infinitely grateful to those loved ones who recognize that and roll with it, while also maintaining the boundaries they need to keep both our hearts safe.

Sometimes, spiritual care (for staff in this case) looks like Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs.

In today's Adventures In Chaplaincy, I am running errands for the ETOH withdrawal patient who is leaving AMA so that their nurse doesn't have to.
She has expressed undying gratitude, and the patient has labeled me, "A good egg." 😂

I'm so tired today, y'all. I can do this. I'm going to do this. I have commitments to my patients and to my staff, and I will keep them.
But I'm so damned tired.
