The @ThePSF@fosstodon.org did the right thing by rejecting $1.5M funding that had USA anti-DEI strings attached. You can always raise funding, but you can't regain integrity. Hopefully my contribution will help, and y'all will consider making up the revenue.

Bad: My Pixel 6a is affected by battery overheating, and got firmware update limiting it
Good: Payoneer says I'll get a US $452 payment (no replacement centers in Spain). That's much more than the $100 I was hearing other people talk about.
A new Pixel 9a is $499-599, almost replacement cost.

I love this snark from Signal's Moxie Marlinspike (on X, sorry):

Oh shit, I'm gonna lose my $0.13 Skype credit! I better top it up ASAP!
Before Microsoft kills the service, after fatally wounding and ignoring it for years. It was great, until they bought it and f'ed the UX and made authentication excruciating.

Gawd, that's AWEFUL. I checked mine and it claims they're not tracking me. Because I'm now living in the EU, rather than the US, I presume.

During Obama's 2009 inauguration, the Potomac was frozen over, and yet we (not-at-all youngsters) road bikes from our place in Arlington VA to be part of it.

So the Brave Orange One moved the inauguration inside "because of the cold". We rode bikes from Arlington to Obama's first inauguration: it was so cold the Potomac was frozen over. It was a great experience, so full of energy. Wunderground tells me tomorrow it'll be warmer in DC than in 2009. Pussy.

Bastards! Got mail from Experian telling me they're now going to sell all my data to 3rd parties; have to opt-out on the site by February. Thanks for protecting my privacy, I'm sure that'll help keep my credit info safe.
