On a cold, wintery day, South Yorkshire celebrated diversity and unity. People took to the streets of Sheffield for a colourful, vibrant march against racism and hate, brought about by over 60 organisations.

Standing shoulder-to-shoulder, the community showed strength. Stop hate, one love ✊✊✊

Despite SYP allowing the Neo-Nazi march and imposing a Section 14 order banning our assembly at Sheffield Cathedral, we condemn their actions and will proceed with the anti-racist protest at the Cathedral this Saturday.

SYP ignores community leaders, putting refugees at risk. We defend our city!
SHAME ON SY POLICE! DEFEND OUR COMMUNITY! WHY WE’RE STILL ASSEMBLING AT SHEFFIELD CATHEDRAL TO STOP NAZI UKIP (Corner Logo: STAND UP TO RACISM) We condemn the disgraceful decision by South Yorkshire Police to allow Neo-Nazi UKIP to march through our city threatening and intimidating asylum seekers in their homes. ​The decision to impose a Section 14 order on Sheffield’s proud and diverse anti-racist movement puts refugees, asylum seekers and their supporters at risk of violence. ​They have ignored an open letter from 25 local organisations, 16 elected councillors and 31 community leaders calling for UKIP’s permission to march to be revoked. (Corner Logo: STAND UP TO RACISM) The decision to restrict our right to defend the community shows that SY Police have learnt nothing from the racist violence outside the Holiday Inn at Manvers, Rotherham in August 2025. ​SY Police conditions state that anti-racists cannot assemble at Sheffield Cathedral.
