Took myself to dinner at Baar Baar, an Indian gastropub in NYC. Chef Sujan Sarkar’s menu was solid, the vibes were nice, and the service was top-notch. Overall, a 7/10 experience. Would go back!

My next read of the year: The Puerto Rican War: A Graphic History by John Vasquez Mejias. 96 hand-carved woodblocks tell the story of Puerto Rican revolutionaries fighting U.S. colonialism in 1950. A powerful work rooted in Puerto Rico’s rich printmaking legacy and erased history. 🇵🇷✨

I think about this often. Legality is a political construct because law is a tool of government and government is shaped by politics.

Next book this year is “Lady Tan's Circle of Women” by Lisa See. A story of healing, enduring friendship, and the legacy of a pioneering woman physician in 15th-century China. Shoutout to the cutie at the bar who recommended it.

New therapist suggested I read The Alchemist and I found it at a used bookstore for $8 in the same day. Coincidence?? I think not.
