The Tulsa Race Massacre was not committed by an uncontrolled mob but was the result of “a coordinated, military-style attack” by white citizens, the Justice Department said in a report. It was the first time the U.S. government has given an official account of the 1921 massacre of Black residents.
Tulsa Massacre Was a ‘Coordinated, Military-Style Attack,’ Federal Report Says
The Justice Department’s conclusion follows an investigation of the 1921 atrocity in Oklahoma in which up to 300 Black residents were killed.

There are so many terrible things happening in the world right now, and yet sometimes an unexpected moment of beauty catches you by surprise. This is what the night sky looked like last night in Las Lajas, Panama — a beautiful halo encircling the moon for a few brief yet breathtaking moments.

This gives me chills

Ann is a friend. What she describes is democracy and a free press getting smothered by political thuggery in real time

It doesnt begin with concentration camps or being thrown out of a window. It starts with “be nice to those people”

The alleviation of women's abuse "is made less likely by the mandated subservience of women by Christian fundamentalists. What is especially disappointing...is the docile acceptance by so many strong Christian women of their subjugation & restricted role." - Jimmy Carter (RIP)

After getting back into town after spending a lovely Thanksgiving with my in-laws in Chicago, mu husband and I got to check out this very fun concert. If you have the chance to hear your symphony perform this, it’s two hours of pure joy!

For me, the thing that knocked the wind out of me with this election is that I dared to believe America would get it right THIS time, that America was ready for a Woman President.

It hurt having that blind faith in neighbors, friends, and strangers smacked out of me.

Dammit, America. 😞

I have MS, and my treatment makes my body less receptive to vaccines. I’m so grateful I’ve had access to vaccines all through my childhood and into my adult life. I’ve traveled to places where polio is still thriving and destroying lives, where measles and tetanus kill. We must do better than this.
If Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is confirmed as health secretary, the longtime vaccine critic would be in a position to change the government’s immunization recommendations and delay the development of new vaccines. Here are five things he could change.
Five Ways R.F.K. Jr. Could Undermine Lifesaving Childhood Vaccines
If he is confirmed as H.H.S. secretary, the longtime vaccine critic would be in a position to change the government’s immunization recommendations and delay the development of new vaccines.
