Surf lifesaving requal done! There was a lot of CPR this year due to major changes in technique/protocols. At least the run/swim/rescue was shorter.

We have been zipping around France on the TVG trains. They are pretty comfy and fast. Does lead to the question of why we can’t have such nice things in Australia.

Currently in Paris. Learned about Robert Badinter yesterday. A French politician that survived the holocaust and went onto to abolished the death penalty in France. Meanwhile back in Sydney the NSW police approved a Nazi protest NSW Parliament House.

I know very little about art. So I was not prepared for the emotional response I had to seeing actual paintings by Van Gogh for the first time at the Musee d’Orsay.

Our beloved cat who died a few years ago hated storms. She would hide until it was over. Our current cat is sitting in the courtyard on his perch and unafraid and totally transfixed watching the lightning flashes in this short but intense storm.

By the time the Melbourne Cup is run tomorrow, I’ll hopefully be seated comfortably on a flight to Hong Kong. And I won’t care one bit about the result of such a cruel sport.

The thing I’ve struggled with recently is what to do at the gym. I was into powerlifting for over a decade so I have a decent idea of what to do in a gym. But lifting wasn’t doing it for me. But I’ve discovered kettlebells. These and GLP-1 meds may just change my life.

Both Slow Horses and Blue Lights are back. This is a good thing. That each episode ends leaving you upset it is over is both a bad and good thing.

I’ve been a bit obsessed with Mingus’ “Boogie Stop Shuffle” and making some kind of guitar arrangement. After some tinkering I’ve slowed it down a tad and used a Texas shuffle feel. Weekend goal is to record a quick demo.

Mentioned to someone at work that when we are in Bayeux next month the Bayeux tapestry museum will be closed. I had to then explain to multiple people what is the Bayeux tapestry.
