Writers who plagiarise the work of other writers are the scum of the earth. Can't even relate to that instinct.
I love interviews with directors where they're like "it really took him ten years to make this film, this is the film he's been trying to make for ten years" because I'm sat in my house with no film made like yes queen I feel you on that

I'm very moved by things, I never think it's embarrassing to be moved by things, I try not to get in that cynical way where movies and books don't move me anymore, in fact I seek out things that move me, I lean hard into that feeling, because your heart can shrink and it can grow

Curiosity is what I turn to when I get depressed, I dunno if that works for anyone else. When the night seems very long, I just pick a corner of the world and I learn something about the people who live there, and I keep learning until I go "wow I had no idea". That cures me.
