4/ like millions of sick, disabled or senior Americans, our entire future & my immediate and long term health depended on SSA functioning properly, maintaining funding. Now we know that NO program or benefit for disabled people or low-income folks are safe until Trump & MAGA are out of office.

3/ As a career nonprofit/health exec in high-poverty facing systems, I knew that our only path forward without losing my vision & mobility entirely was to get SSDI& that my medical case was clear & overwhelming. Still, a week into the new admin, I got a one paragraph second denial.

2/ My ex-spouse is deceased; If I did not have an elite education & professional background, there is NO way my kids & I would have stayed housed through the nearly two year SSDI process. Just as with my original cancer/surgery, our village crowdfunded & provided resources, an extreme privilege.
