I keep reminding myself that this madness didn’t exist to this degree only 10 short years ago. I think we have to strike the word ‘normal’ from our lexicon. It no longer exists. Bizarre, surreal, unfathomable have to take its place methinks. Love you, my friend!

Been feeling like this for a while & it’s enough to make you despair. The only thing I’ve found that works is to focus on the things you have control over. Relationships with friends & family. Keeping your local world ticking along. There is good out there, even when it doesn’t seem so.

Ooff yeah I’m in Mt Roskill & there are potholes & general holes galore around here. Lots of flooding zones. Fun times. Hope your sinkhole is sorted now?

I defer to your experience. It’s not likely to happen anyway, but what a difference it would make to so many, if we could make it work.

AstroTurf?!! Good grief, what are we becoming. I’d be happy to have mine planted out & if it needs to be bowled over for emergency service access, so be it. There’s definitely potential here, just how to do it without causing problems as you say.

Solid points for main roads, but your average suburban street might fare a bit better. Fruit trees could be assigned to particular berms so they’re maintained. I dunno what the perfect answer is, but it’s gotta be better than wasted space.

Would also nullify a whack of the supermarkets power on basic fruit and vege. As for hurting the pipes to properties, I’m sure there’s a way to do this & work around the pipes.
