A Grim Reaper sits at a desk staring into a PC screen. It is surrounded by paperwork, the desk is relatively messy. There is a cup at the desk to their left beside the paper stacks, the top of one of the paper stacks has a weirdly shaped something on it. For some reason, the space where the Grim Reaper has their hands is clear, I feel there should be a keyboard there. In fact, on closer inspection, this must be AI art, the Grim Reaper has fingers, not phalanges or carpal bones, far too many as well. 8 on one hand. 8 spindly things.. The hand that is further away has 5 for goodness sake. It looks like Death is trying to play a keyboard, not type. And if it is meant to be working in a call centre, it's missing a phone, or even a headset. Anyway, on to the reason for posting this weird art piece. The caption below reads: "For the last time: Abyss = for staring into Void = for screaming into Please stop screaming into the abyss we are not insured for that."

There's good reasons to step outside.
A tree from the ash family, with clusters of leaflets arranged in symmetrical pairs along a stem with a terminal leaf, vertical at the end. These leaves are clothed in the stunning autumnal colours of broadleaf trees; reds, oranges and yellows. Barely any green leaves remain. There appear to be two main "trunk" stems, the one to the right has some shiny, waxy, dark green ivy growing around it. The camera angle is facing upwards, setting the colours of the leaves, bathed in sunlight, against a bright blue sky with a light, white cloud above.

A narrow pathway is lined with conifers, to the left side, between the conifers and the path, are small gorse bushes. It has been raining a lot the past few days, so the spiders have spun their webs among the tips of the gorse bushes. The moisture has built up on the threads, making them appear more prominent. Close up of a spiders web, spun between the upward spines of a gorse bush, covered in fine droplets of water. Spun between the upper branches of a gorse bush is an intricate and densely spun spider's Web, upon which the moisture from several days worth of rain has collected.

I dunno about that, it's nice to have English folks trying to learn Irish, it's certainly better than the type Terry Pratchett was writing about here:

Oh no, I saw this image on image search and a rush of childhood swept through me. I recognised every one of them.
The image is a still from the Dungeons and Dragons cartoon released in the 1980s in America. I do not know the names of the characters, but there's a small unicorn, what I think is a little boy in a horned helmet, a dark haired guy with a cape and shield, a Robin Hood type looking guy with a bow and arrow, a Black woman with a staff, a wizard in a green robe and a girl in a blue cape. In the centre with his back to us is a small man who is bald on top with long white hair. He's wearing a red robe. I really wish I had the correct vocabulary to explain these things more effectively, I'm sorry.

Traditionally, these bands wear what is known as "Corpse Paint", that is, they will paint the face white with black streaks to give the effect of seeming gaunt and ghoulish. Huskies, like the dogs in Brynn's picture, often have markings that are similar. Especially to Gaahl (the lead vocalist) in this image. There is a popular meme that is an image of three black metal musicians and a husky, with the caption "Day 28: they still don't know I'm a dog"

Image is of the Norwegian Satanic Black Metal band "God Seed". Typically, these bands tend to wear what is known as "corpse paint", they paint their faces white, with black in various patterns, to look ghoulish and scary. Many huskies, like the dogs in the picture in the quoted skeet, bear similar black markings on their faces, and there is a popular meme with three Black metal dudes and a husky with the caption "day 28: they still don't know I'm a dog".

The Paradox of Tolerance disappears if you look at tolerance, not as a moral standard, but as a social contract. If someone does not abide by the terms of the contract, then they are not covered by it. In other words: The intolerant are not following the rules of the social contract of mutual tolerance. Surely this is Tasky?
Greg Davies and Alex Horne of Taskmaster UK, aired in Channel 4. They are both sitting in chairs with a golden ornate surround and red velvet seat and back cushioning. Greg, the Taskmaster being a little taller than Alex, has a larger and more ornate throne-like chair sitting to the left of the picture, he is dressed in a black suit and shirt. He is smirking in a way that is to suggest the commanding and angry (schoolteacher like) tone in which he presents the show, but with the tongue in cheek silliness that we associate the Taskmaster with. To the right, "Little Alex Horne" sits in a smaller, not identical but quite similar throne-like chair, in a black suit and white shirt. He is looking ill at ease, in typical Alex Horne style, almost as though when he sat down he realised there was something unpleasant on the seat.

This is around the point where people fleeing the starvation imposed upon the Irish people by the British Empire. Ireland is an abundant source of food, and we have a diverse range of crops, all of which were taken by the British settlers or exported to the British mainland. Leaving Irish people to subsist of a diet largely reliant upon potatoes. There was a particularly bad blight that meant that while the crops were taken from Irish land, the Irish people were left without food. Many starving, famine victims - like those depicted in the ghoulish looking sculptures of 5 men and women, one with a child on their shoulders, and a small dog to the back of the group, boarded ships to sail to America here. Hence the large Irish American diaspora. And why none of you should be defending Israel in their actions toward the Palestinian people.

The Cenobites from Clive Barker's Hellbound Heart, as they were presented in the movies. They are all dressed in black leather with a traditional S&M aesthetic, although taken to the extreme - some clothing being threaded through skin. To the left is Butterball, he has a face which appears to be melting downward. Next to him is the Hell Priest, nicknamed Pinhead, due to the pins protruding from his head at the intersections of a grid pattern cheese wired into his head. Next to him is the female cenobite, she has a large ring which passes through her cheeks and mouth, and her throat is peeled open. At the right of shot beside her is the Chatterer, his mouth has been peeled back with hooks to expose all of his gums and teeth. They are all hairless. And probably better described in the book, "The Hellbound Heart", you should read it, the first two movies were great, but the book (as usual) is better.

Black and white image of what at first glance, appears to be a four member Scandinavian Black metal band, they are placed in a diamond formation and the guy at the top of the diamond is holding a weapon somewhere between an axe and one of those klingon battle weapons, it's spiky and ornate but utterly impractical looking, he has this raised above his head. They each have the traditional white face paint with black lips and eyes, they have lines extending from above, below or to the side of the eyes or mouths. The caption across the top reads "Day 28", across the bottom reads "They still don't know I'm a dog" On second glance, the band member down the bottom centre is actually a husky or malamute with facial markings matching those of the other band members.

Apparently on the local open forum on Facebook it has become an "in joke" because of how often folks kept asking "is the cliff walk open", so much so that this is apparently on the windows in the new shopping centre (asking when penneys was opening was also a meme)

The Bray to Greystones cliff walk has been closed due to landslide and rock fall since covid unfortunately. It's possible to do it over the top, but you'd need to know your way.
There's a lovely stretch of the Wicklow Way out over the Powerscourt Waterfall worth a look 😁
The view from Ride Rock in Crone Woods, along the Wicklow Way in Ireland. The view is of a glacial valley, lined with conifers, with Irelands highest waterfall (it's only a few hundred metres, we don't have high mountains here 😂) Powerscourt Waterfall. Through the valley the waterfall runs through Djouce Mountain, Wicklows highest mountain (between 7-800m if I remember correctly) can be seen. The sun is shining to the right of shot and there's sparse clouds, with beautiful deep blue sky. It's March, so not quite spring yet, a lot of the broadleaf trees in the foreground are still quite bare.
