A tiny swatch of today's work: hidden wallpaper (buried under many other layers of wallpaper, and mostly only intact in corners where two layers were overlapping, thus protecting the bottom layer). Directly adhered onto the 1880s (ish) plaster... no idea what era its from, but she's cute!

Edition #574: wood is *not* supposed to do that. Mould AND dry rot... today is NOT my day 🙃 This is one of the planks that is the sheathing of our house, in the cavity from previous post that had vapour barrier and (as you can see) lots of mould 🦠 #oldhouseSOS #oldhouselove

Today, in edition 573 of "This Isn't Supposed to Look Like That" ...opened up one of the few sections of the house that have drywall instead of the OG plaster (the front entryway) and found this lovely surprise 🥴 #oldhouseSOS

150 years of living on hill with improper grading, and 20+ years without gutters, and this is what the sill plate looks like (ft. some very questionable framing) #oldhouselove #sillplateSOS

Hello fellow old house fans... I'm over here thanks to @falufarmhouse.bsky.social and her starter pack, and I'm basically unknown in this community despite renovating my own historical house for the past two years, so let me introduce her in photos below! #oldhouselove
