Brutal bike crash coming off the Hawthorne Bridge into downtown.
Tires hit the new textured yellow lane divider in the rain. Went face-first into the guardrail.
Hanging out in the Providence ER with a softball-sized welt.

Update: Text messages sent between Field and county spox Julie Sullivan-Springhetti on Feb. 4 show Field disclosed his intention to retire weeks before shortfall announcement.
