Father, husband, 20+ years ASF, punny guy. We have cats. He/him. #Trademarks #OpenSource
#DrSeuss was such an interesting wit. I never actually considered until today that the Cat never actually gets In The Hat - which is the more obvious meaning of the words. Brilliant.

My grandfather volunteered to fight the original N*zis at Bastogne, and lost a wrist and a small part of his soul in combat, fighting to protect truth and freedom.

Please, let's not have to do that again. 😢

🏎️ Driving up tomorrow afternoon. 🦞
Wondering about the implications of those of us without any skills in art being able to use AI to create some form of art, no matter how sloppy it is.

Obviously, GenX grew up in a time utter crap job market, so many turned to sales, because lead generation was one of...

At #OpenForumAcademy, our keynote by Katharina Meyer of DIIF includes so many key quotes on how to do #OpenSource #funding right, with my favorite:
"How can open source be supported financially without disrupting the peer production culture and incentives of communities building it?"

Konstantin Vinogradov at #OpenForumAcademy asking one really simple (if hard!) question:

How can we use the university endowment model to sustainably fund OSS maintenance?

Just one of many aspects to the #OpenSource #Sustainability question:

#OpenForumAcademy hitting (one of) the nails around #funding in #OpenSource #Sustainability. The Open@RIT program did amazing work taking academic grants to use them to holistically help FOSS projects. But when they asked for more funding, grantors simply say "we don't do grants that way".

#OpenForumAcademy starts off with both a great overview of the history of #OpenSource, both socially/policy wise, but includes some deep technical cuts. When was the last time you used cvs for source control?

Today's Hawaiian shirt, attending @OpenForumAcad here in my hometown Boston! Excited to see all the research topics covering #OpenSource issues in the next two days.

Remember everyone: the #OpenSource supply chain is people - maintainers, coders, testers, writers, and yes, even the companies that help build all those FOSS products inside your computers...
