I recently visited the ruined home of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. It is not an expression of political opinion to say that the destruction points to criminal damage. Also, why on earth is the site now not cordoned off???? It’s dangerous yet ppl are climbing all over it! #Bangladesh

Had a v productive meeting with Bangladesh's new High Commissioner to the UK, Abida Islam ahead of my forthcoming deployment . We agreed on the importance of covering stories from Bangladesh in a transparent, objective and impartial way as it settles in to a new era #bangladesh
