Frost: Tonight the people stealing are not folks with tattoos and hoodies but people wearing suits and ties and congressional pins sitting in the capitol now, not in some alley wrapped in darkness but the United States congress wrapped in the flag. It is disgusting and we will never forget this.

A friend of mine has coined the term “Pinocheting” to describe what the government is doing to these prisoners.
Stop calling it deporting, so MAYBE more Americans will get it. "Deporting" is sending someone back, after due process, to the country they came from, where they arrive a free person. This is human trafficking to a foreign torture prison for the rest of their lives. GET THE LANGUAGE RIGHT.

His name is Andry Hernandez Romero. He is a young professional from Venezuela. He is a makeup artist. He is a gay man.

Andry was a target for abuse in his homeland of Venezuela. He was viciously humiliated daily — the victim of discrimination for his sexuality. He was also being persecuted for…

I said my main goal of this trip was to meet with Kilmar. Tonight I had that chance. I have called his wife, Jennifer, to pass along his message of love. I look forward to providing a full update upon my return.

This administration’s chaos is tearing families apart, including this 19-year-old from the Bronx who was sent to prison in El Salvador and taken away from his father.

All those sent to this dangerous prison without due process must be released.

Now.
ICE Took His Son From Their Bronx Apartment. Now He's in El Salvador's Mega-Prison.
Merwil Gutiérrez had no criminal record when ICE agents detained the 19-year-old outside his home. Now his father, Wilmer, is still searching for answers.

Didn’t get a chance to post this earlier, but there was a huge turnout in support of Kilmar Abrego Garcia at the federal courthouse.

From my seat in the jury room, I heard the supporters outside chanting throughout the hearing.

Swan to Leavitt: "The president has long said that it would be an abuse of power for a president to direct prosecutors to investigate him. Last week, President Trump explicitly directed the DOJ to scrutinize Chris Krebs ... how is that not an abuse of power?" (Note that Leavitt has no response.)

We've seen videos like this before, but usually when you see a tearful wife pleading with the kidnappers who have taken her husband, she's not talking to the U.S. president
Abrego Garcia's wife: "I will not stop fighting until I see my husband alive. Kilmar, if you can hear me, stay strong. God hasn't forgotten about you. Our children are asking when you will come home ... they miss their dad so much."

POWERFUL: "As we continue through Holy Week, my heart aches for my husband, who should have been here leading our Easter prayers. Instead I find myself pleading with the Trump administration and the Bukele administration to stop playing political games with the life of Kilmar."

If the U.S. government is going to take the position that, once removed from the United States, folks can’t be brought back, then it sure seems to me that federal courts should be reflexively and categorically barring *all* removals until they’re 100 percent certain that the removals are lawful.

I keep puzzling over how Rubio thinks it'll bring PROSPERITY to kidnap gay hairdressers based on their tattoos & then pay $20K/year to detain them in a slave camp.

We could have spent that $6M on supporting trade with Congo instead, but Rubio has decided torture is better for profits?

NEWS: In today's declaration filed by the government in Kilmar Abrego Garcia's case, the govt still provides no information or past or current efforts to facilitate Abrego Garcia's return. Instead, an asst dir of ICE suggests that Abrego Garcia "is no longer eligible for withholding of removal."

the transfer to El Salvador of US deportees is, per Pres Bukele, a straight up contract that has “nothing to do w/foreign policy.” The fees we are paying makes their entire prison system “sustainable.” Don’t see how US can make argument that bringing A-G back is some sensitive foreign policy matter

NEW: DOJ doubles down on refusing to follow Judge Xinis's orders. Today's status report contains nothing new. It again fails to provide information about steps they're taking to bring Mr. Abrego back), and arguably violates her command that a declaration be made by someone with personal knowledge.

It’s weird that so many centrists imagine they can soothe fascism by bringing more “conservative” profs to campuses. (The current right isn’t conservative.) The entire fascist leadership apparatus is the product of elite schools. Is the problem that colleges need to produce *more* for that class?

DOGE already has cost tax payers money (at the very least $500B/year in IRS revenues, but that's before other huge costs are accounted for).

And as I keep noting, Elon's $150B/year estimate is what some of the IGs who got fired were finding--w/o cutting services.
Doge will end up costing tax payers money and not saving one nickel.
All we will have done is opened up our books to a group of nefarious folks for some yet to be determined reason.
