This happens in multiplayer games too, where people will pick the “meta” build or character just to win, then they don’t enjoy it because it’s not fun to play like that. If you don’t like that character or build, do something that you enjoy!!!

Same thing with silksong and people refusing to use the tools. It’s fine if you want to avoid certain mechanics but don’t say the game is bad because you deliberately made it worse for yourself.

Biggest example I’ve seen is people hating on Elden Ring, then you watch them play and it’s like ooooh you use no items except for the flasks, no spells, no spirit summons, colossal weapons only. Not that there’s anything wrong with that playstyle, but you are doing a challenge run essentially.
