I play and fix instruments.
I read books as well.

I haven’t seen one of these in a long time. It shows on this guitar, too - the strings are all rusty as hell 😬
I never knew anything about this stuff tbh, it was a different scene from the one I was in. Invader Zim, Johnny the Homicidal Maniac, etc.

I’d rather just blame Square though. It’s truly awful for what we do here.

Here for a complimentary setup from purchase.
It’s a 7-string acoustic/electric.
That’s it 🤷🏻

Instead of a true solid body they were made of laminate hardwood. Yamaha actually ran a mild smear campaign showing one sanded down to expose the layers.

This is an oddball iteration of an otherwise “standard” model. These were introduced in 1992 in an attempt to shore up the poor reputation Squier had at the time. They were the nicest Korean-made models you could get, but didn’t help improve their image.

It’s got new strings and is set up well, but it needs its nut shimmed. Lots of nasty open-buzz.
The one thing I can confidently say about Yamaha guitars is that their QC is incredibly consistent, but some things inevitably need work anyway.

Today we’re fixing/restoring this early 70s Kustom 3x15” cabinet. It still has the original CTS speakers but the wires themselves are trash (or missing) so we’re giving it a fresh set
I’m leaving the Peavey badge since that’s what kind of amp will be going into it

The Mudhoney book was fantastic and I’ve added them to my sprawling list of favorite bands after digging into their discography beyond Superfuzz Big Muff
I’m going into the Wire book similarly blind, my only real exposure being the Minor Threat cover*

Contact! For the Nintendo DS! What a weird game!
Take one part Earthbound, one part Paper Mario: Sticker Star, one part…idk, general uniqueness? and you get this!
This game is also how I discovered Haruki Murakami, as the translation leaves his name in the dialogue.
