Having been assigned in Europe for 12+ years, I saw a lot of classified intel & experienced a lot of interaction w/ Putin and the Russian military.
The Russian government is a mafia. Europeans know it & we keep failing to understand it. They don't "negotiate."

@simonwdc.bsky.social reminded me in a video post how Democrats have had to put the nation back together after all the GOP presidencies since Reagan. I remembered a colleague who spent his 401k to keep his house after losing employment. Imagine that. Dems need to teach of this history.
