If this is too intimidating, feel free to reach out for guidance or just make a financial donation to a hunger relief organization of your choosing. @nationalceliac is running their own initiative called #feedingglutenfree that is sending GF food to individuals and pantries across the country.

3. Every Tuesday, FeedRI will pick it up with our regular donation pick up and take it back to their facility for sorting. Items may end up at one of the many school pantries across the state or may end up at Hope Market.

2. We will be checking every item. Anything that isn't GF will be separated and put with regular donations. We would prefer to keep gluten as far away from these items as possible, to prevent any chance of cross-contamination. If you are not 100% confident, please bring it inside for evaluation.

NOTE: we promise our feelings will not be hurt if you do not buy these things from us. It's about filling tummies, not our egos.

Please bring any temperature sensitive items inside and hand to us so we can get into proper storage.

How it works:
1. Drop off gluten-free items any day from 10am-630pm. We have fridges and freezers so we're able to accept additional retail-packed items like GF bread, prep foods, meat processed in a USDA facility, eggs, etc. We're also open to bulk items in certain categories.

But look at how nice those shelves look. Now I just need money to order more product to fill them.

So an hour-long project took 6 hours all because IKEA decided to change materials in a signature item in their collection
October 8, 2025 at 3:14 PM
So at 730pm, we had to completely scrap and redesign our plan to accommodate for these mismatched shelves, which meant:

1. Empty shelves
2. Move veneer shelves to one part of the, effect to another part
3. Assign everything to a new spot
4. Drowning our sorrows in hot sauce hummus

We checked our receipts and even peeked into LBB's windows to make sure she didn't end up with our shelves. Nope. These are the birch shelves.

Turns out, IKEA changed the materials on the Billy Bookcase. Our old shelves are "Birch Veneer" and the new ones are "Birch Effect"

So I guess ultimately, if all food spending is down, is anyone eating properly? Especially if money is a factor.

Market Basket is also the best option for anyone on a tight budget. So there's not really any incentive to shop elsewhere if money is your primary concern (plus their quality is usually better than most big box)

(SNAP benefits are released on the 1st of the month so they get to buy food for the month. So grocery stores + farmers markets are packed the first week of every month.)

So is it slow because folks are worried they didn't get their benefits or are folks conserving their food stamps?
