covid gave me 18 months of alcohol intolerance. A single drink would leave me feeling hungover the next day; two drinks on Friday night would destroy my entire weekend

this story often gets a strong reaction from folks.

I will always hate this dumb seaplane ship.

I love seaplanes and I love star wars, but if you're gonna take a seaplane and shove it into the Star War then you gotta at least make it look a little like a space ship.

And also those cartoonish huge engines make it look like a baby toy airplane.

sometimes I start deleting adjectives and then I'm like, if this post isn't gonna have flavor then maybe I shouldn't post it at all

my ancestors do not listen to me. I have no place to honor them, and I doubt they know to look for me here in Wisconsin, anyways

ghosts pass through my yard like deer in the winter. they stop only a moment to look, then they move on. 10,000 generations of humanity, each one alone

lies in a field in Aberdeen, Washington. But I don't remember the church where the service was performed or the cemetery that holds his mortal remains

maybe he waits there. or maybe he wanders out to sea, where he spent so much of his life. strolling the kelp forests in the pacific abyss

now we drive off in our cars, or catch a plane to some far off place, and our ancestors can't find us anymore

they used to live in our homes, but now we change apartments and houses every few years, and nothing endures between the generations

we don't even know where they lay. My father's father

yeah I read a ton of shit on UBI/cash subsidy studies back in 2020

(now I just take psychic damage whenever someone mentions Andrew Yang)

Scott Santens used to collate a lot of this stuff, but I don't know if he's still at it or not

money gains value when humans trade labor for it. each time a dollar trades hands, energy is injected into the economy and the value of all the dollars goes up

low-velocity money (sitting around in banks) is inflationary. Because it's not adding energy, it's existence devalues the moving money

Tariffs have only taken in about a fifth of what this program would cost, so $400 per person would be about right.
November 19, 2025 at 3:57 AM
actually it wouldn't! studies on the Alaska permanent fund and other cash infusion programs show a deflationary effect

this is because the velocity of money is very high when it's being spent. Each dollar does more than a dollar's worth of "work"

Max reebo shows up in the Boba Fett show, still alive and jammin'

I am just sayin', there's legitimate research that shows it mitigates the effects of Alzheimers

it occurs to me.... perhaps this is why coffins are padded on the inside?

I mean, they have a point. I certainly wouldn't want to spend half of eternity as an underground bumper-car.
November 17, 2025 at 5:59 PM
when I was moving cross-country I just posted stuff like that as "free" on Facebook marketplace. was able to get rid of all the furniture that I wasn't taking with me

Although couches are difficult unless they look in really good condition
