Tip: the most photogenic mountain section is Jasper to Kamloops, and the westbound train catches that section in daylight.

They seem to have at least partly addressed the delays by padding the schedule - in 2018 it was lengthened to 4 nights to cover the whole route. Our train was 4.5h late leaving Saskatoon due to a freight train with an air problem, but we recovered by Jasper.

I included the iconic Hubbard grain elevator, the very essence of Saskatchewan! 😉

There are more shots than that though - it truly feels like you can see forever out there.

Yep! All of those shots are from the Dome, and there are more where that came from! Here's one of

Also a clear demonstration that anyone who claims Conservatives are responsible with money is deeply unserious and should be treated as such.

I've stopped posting and I'm now watching for folks I follow on Twitter to post their Bsky handles in case they're a bit different or otherwise hard to find for some reason. After a grace period of a few weeks I'll deactivate Twitter completely, but I'm trying not to drop people I want to hear from.

According to polls, somewhere around 2/3 of Greenlanders want to be a fully sovereign country, not joined with any other entity (although it's unclear where their annual budget would come from in that scenario). Regardless, it should be their choice.

Oversimplified story: Oregon was claimed for the Videroyalty of New Spain before being taken over by the US. "Orejón", eventually "Oregón", was recorded in Spanish before English. But English strongly prefers putting syllable stress on the antipenultimate (third-to-last) syllable.

Operations seem fairly smooth (thanks in part to the priority left signal at York/Adelaide), however there's some disagreement between the stops posted on the website, the stops announced onboard, and the stops mounted to poles on the street. Hope to see that sorted out soon.

💯 They'll sell out their voters in no time if it means clinging to power

Ideally they'd get their heads out of their rear ends and coordinate like the recent French elections, but I don't have much faith in our politicians doing what needs to be done - probably gonna have to be a bottom-up approach.
