A prediction in writing to check it out as the water flows underground: MTG will go the way of what's her name? That former governor of Alaska who was on a presidential ticket a long time ago?

“The moon, it turns out, is a great place for men.” Nathan Heller reflects on E. B. White’s “perfect paragraph” on the 1969 moon landing.
Nathan Heller on E. B. White’s Paragraph About the Moon Landing
What sort of response could measure up to the occasion? White’s idea was as simple as it was audacious.

No doubt, there is no shortage of #Trump disasters. But #ProPublica here explains why what is being done on #climate is almost certainly the most deadly to the most people and likely irreversible. Our last glimmer of hope to avert runaway warming is fading.
The Texas flash flood is a preview of the chaos to come
Climate change is making disasters more common, more deadly and far more costly, even as the federal government is running away from the policies that might begin to protect the nation. by Abrahm ....

SITTING ON A TIME BOMB. I can’t follow the news closely. It’s too upsetting. And it's not just me. As we grow increasingly numb, we anticipate a decisive event that will move masses to rise up. The cataclysm will have to be something big, hitting us all where we live. Or am I missing something?

Campaigns looking for a powerful theme against an incumbent should always consider the 'missing' rep approach. It is easy to understand and has a great track record.

Are you at the point yet where you are thinking it can't get much worse before it explodes? What will that look like? A black-hole implosion of Trump and Maga? Or an overwhelming detonation aimed at the rest of us?

A gym acquaintance with whom I’ve talked just enough to know he’s not MAGA brought up the Bernie/AOC rally set for this evening, nearby. He said he asked his wife not to attend. “Why?” I asked. “I’ll be there.” “Aren’t you afraid they’ll take your photo?” He asked. Yes. The fear runs that deep.

I just emailed him. Now is the moment for Colorado voters to flood his office with strong protest!
Democrats divided on whether to shut down government or vote with GOP
Trump needs Senate Democrats’ votes, but they are still weighing whether to use this rare point of leverage and risk taking blame for a shutdown.

Not politics. A story in the NYT a month or so back, "A grain, a green, a bean" has transformed my diet. Uncountable variations, easy to shop for and prepare, delicious, healthy, far better for the planet, less costly. Who needs much (if any) animal protein?

Only massive public protest,sit-downs, strikes, can stop the coup. Trump is provoking it, itching for the excuse to declare martial law. When he does, the question will be, How does the military respond? Is this climactic showdown not inevitable at this point? And then what? Unpredictable.

The Trump/Musk regime can only be taken down well after significant lasting damage has been done, directly impacting voters. Then, it will require huge demonstrations: start with a national strike. No work, no school, no travel, no commerce. A week later, a two-day strike.
