Yikes this is terrible. We had something like this happen in our department but at least I knew who to direct my 4 page letter of outrage to.

Totally! I think people think you have to have something bad happen to you in order to be scared of something, but totally not what the science shows. There are lots of perfectly valid reasons people are going to not want to be in a locked room.
