Today's popcorn: butter, furikake, nutritional yeast. There's salt in furikake so no extra salt. Nom.

We finally have a bookstore in town that sells new books in addition to used, and will order stuff. The Heartstopper movie is more than a year away, it seems, so I splurged.

Today's popcorn: garlic confit and Parmesan cheese. SO good.

Tasty popcorn can't cure grief or fascism, but it's tasty.

I've been meaning to read this book since one of my college professors raved about it in the '80s, but I think now was just the right time in my life for me to have read it. (Still reading my ebooks alphabetically, still in the B's. Next are a couple of bean cookbooks.)

I used up all my peopling energy this week, so today I skipped our usual Saturday downtown walk and made picadillo empanadas instead. Tomorrow's neighbor dinner will be chicken parm, pasta, green beans, and lemon bars.

I just saw the hashtag #bloomscrolling and I'm here for it. Have some pics from my yard.

It's been a good food week. Didn't take a ton of food photos, but some.

Gave up on the previous book. It maybe suffered from that thing where people get super successful and their books get longer and more pondeous. Anyway, we're still in the Bs and here's the new read.

Hanging on to small joys; our clematis finally bloomed!

Neighbor dinner today was super casual for the sake of my energy levels. Everything but the falafel was make-ahead or store-bought. I do love a big from-scratch dinner but I'm 100% fine with shortcuts, too. The people and feeding them are the point.

Spent today cleaning the house while I wasn't migraining. Here is Sunday's not-Easter dinner menu. Will do all the prep I can tomorrow. Exciting!

Current read in the alphabetical order project is The Scar, but it's under B because it's book 2 of the Bas-Lag series. I have rarely read an author who uses such specific and surprising images in language. This time around, I will highlight some of the more striking phrases and share them.

I'm not skipping non-fiction in my read of all my unread ebooks. I'm on the B's and this is a really lovely cookbook with some good writing. Can't wait to try making my own rice crackers.

Still reading through my ebooks in alpha order by title. This one was sad, as it says on the tin, but beautiful, as expected.

Neighbor dinner tonight was followed by postcard writing and a really nice convo with the neighbors. It was good for my soul.

Working my way through my unread ebooks in alpha order by title. I thought about skipping the nonfiction because I am a bear of very little brain lately, but i read it anyway. It is really useful to me and speaks a language my brain understands, so I'm glad I read it.
