"The genocide in Gaza is not an incidental event that can be ignored but a fundamental event like the Vietnam War, where what is being burned with American weapons are not just nonwhite people but American ideals and the possibilities of euphemism."

Annual reminder that instead of Harry Potter, read Ursula Le Guin's Earthsea instead.

Better written, more insightful, more interesting world and characters, not ethically-poisonous, and it wasn't made by a malignant has-been TERF.

I will never stop making games with psx-style visuals.

It will be 2047 and I'll be like "hey guys here's my new game inspired by Metal Gear Solid and Resident Evil. It has hand-painted textures, dithering, and wobbly polygons."

Then you'll be able to download a demo for it to your brain

Using the word "philistine" to mean "uncultured person" is pretty racist when you think about it. Philistine was a whole country with, I'm sure, a variety of people.

Imagine if in 1000 years "American" was a word meaning "idiot". Well ok...that would make sense. Bad example, but you get the idea.

We can all sit around and pretend that these goofy dumbasses - one of them formerly a respected and critical reporter at The Register - are making anything other than “just another LLM.” So much capital has burned in the name of this nonsense narrative, it’s time to stop. It’s embarrassing.

🧵 You may never have heard of this artist, Robert Campin. I love his work [zoom in for details]. Every item included has a symbolic meaning too. We know so little about him that we are not 100% sure this was actually his name! I love the angel wings! [1]
Humble Virgin Mary, sitting on floor at home, her reading interrupted by arrival of angel she is trying hard to ignore. From the Merode Altarpiece by Robert Campin, 1430, for feast day of the Annunciation.
