Micro is the smallest I go, because anything smaller I can barely see - and micros are definitely pushing it 😂 This tiny guy (Little LeVar resin by R.M.) was painted by me as a semi-portrait of my brown dun Fjord gelding Romar. I tried very hard to get all the tiny details into him! #modelhorse

A tough category for sure, as I've got a lot of models that hold special meaning to me - but this guy is definitely in the top five. He's a custom by Neena Bickram that she gifted me way back in the day. We met online through collecting Grand Champions, way before I was into Breyers! #modelhorse

The bottom couple of shelves contain Grand Champions models from the 90s. The rest are a combination of Breyer, CollectA, Schleich, and the odd Mojo, Safari and Trail of Painted Ponies models. Most are 1:9 or 1:12 scale.

All tack & accessories I made completely from scratch and I'm very proud of <3 The Cleveland Bay is a custom by Sarah Davie-Warren & is wearing a replica Temerian Horse Armour set from the Witcher 3. I made the gold dressage set almost entirely on my Twitch stream, which was really fun! #modelhorse

3-4 feet of heavy snow covering pretty much everything. Two windshield wipers can be seen poking up out of the snow on the right side; a trick to keep them from freezing to the windshield, but in this weather it also has the bonus of helping us find our vehicles! There are fence posts in the background with just their tips peeking up out of the snow.

Kind of forgot bsky existed for the last weeks I was at work, and I had to stay a couple days longer because of Hurricane Lee :| But here are some pictures I took over that period. I went to see a small waterfall (it was so peaceful <3) and then went kayaking!

Yesterday was warm so I went & sat in the river for 30 mins. I LOVE jobs where I have access to fresh water. I live on the ocean but it's smelly and I've always preferred rivers, creeks & lakes. The water was a bit too cold for me to be brave enough to swim, but I'm planning on going kayaking soon!

My cousin's horse is in recovery & getting lunged a lot to bring him back to work. I invited her over to practice lunging with my mare, Susie, who's been completely out of work for at least 7 years. She was perfect - like no time had passed - and it's a joy seeing how much she LOVES to work. Proud<3

Took the best doggo to the beach today! Here she is pondering the meaning of life, hanging out with my friend's dog who she met today (and didn't eat!) and having a nap with my foot as a pillow. We are both very tired but it was a good day and I'm so proud of her for getting over her anxiety <3

Model horses are my hobby of choice - here are four I painted annually from 2018-2021. I don't have many finished projects (woo ADHD) so they're pretty special to me even if I'm not a pro. I also make scale tack and props for said plastic ponies; I find it really satisfying to make tiny things! 🧶
Two 1:9 scale Breyer model horses. The one on the left has been customized to be standing square with his head down; he has been painted to a heavily dappled rich bay with three white socks, a white stripe on his face, and real hair. The one on the right is the original unchanged model (he's not standing square, his head is up, and he has plastic hair), a gray on the Idocus mold (a portrait of the real horse Snowman). A roughly 1:20 scale resin model horse (Dinky Duke sculpted by Morgen Kilbourn) painted to a deep chestnut colour; he also has a star and snip on his face not visible in the photo. He has an Oldenburg brand on his flank and is performing a half pass movement, so looks a bit awkward from the side. He placed second in a rather large class of chestnut model horses by amateur artists at a pretty big show, which I'm so proud of! A 1:20 scale resin model horse (micro mini Maxi Cob sculpted by Kelly Sealey) painted to a dark bay tobiano. He has a dark face, four white legs, and white patches on his leg, barrel and croup, with a mostly white tail that has a bit of black in the middle. He is cantering on some sand. A 1:20 scale resin model Fjord horse (micro mini Little LeVar sculpted by Rayvin Maddock) painted to a brown (bay) dun with no white markings. He is trotting and attached to an oval base painted to resemble dirt. Fjord Horses are a Norwegian breed that are a light brown or tan in colour, with a white/cream mane (most often trimmed to an upright mohawk) and tail that have a coloured stripe down the middle (black, in the case of a brown/bay dun) along with a matching dorsal stripe and dark legs, sometimes with zebra striping on them. You might know them as the breed from the movie Frozen!

I finally picked up crochet right before the pandemic started, and I haven't looked back! I love to make amigurumi and I find it so relaxing and rewarding.

Here are some of my projects <3 🧶
A crochet amigurumi crow, roughly life-sized and perched on a person's finger. It is fairly realistic in style. A crochet amigurumi possum, done in a cute style. Crochet amigurumi Pokemon Eevee and Charizard, sort of chibi styled. A crochet amigurumi squid in various shades of teal. He has happy eyes and pompoms at the end of his two tentacles.
