It's almost like we're having a midlife identity crisis as marketers. This thinking of who we are and what we offer, AI has the potential to not only change what our workflows and our efficiency looks like, but also gives us more time to actually think on the strategic side and be more creative.

✅ Add links TO new pages and posts on your OLDEST content
✅ Throw in a little content update and fetch in GSC to make sure it’s indexed
✅ Consider updating publish date when you do ( also good time to combined, trim, or prune)

The other half of it is: Was this content meant to “be JUST read?”

Are there no interesting links? Are there no cta elements? No video to press play on? (Oops did you enable click tracking for video elements?)

Or is really “one and done”?

A GA bounce simply means that no second event was triggered.

The trouble is in the details you DON’T know in that scenario.

Did they click an external link and you didn’t have click tracking enabled? Bounce

Did they click on a popup and it didn’t register? Bounce

Did they click a phone #?

A high bouncr rate is simply an indicator of poor analytics setup

If you're using GA definition of bounce rate, I would humbly disagree here.

If 10 people do a search, land on your page, spend 5 minutes reading it and leave, that is a 100% bounce rate (unless you have some specific events setup).

I think not clicking or return to serp/click are worse.

Just did a podcast with an old school ad/pr guy and he said the same thing of his niche and its lack of metrics BUT “ it either is working… or it isnt!”
